Store closing

February 18, 2019

Dear customers,

The past several months have been very challenging. I was notified last December that the commercial kitchen I rented for nearly four years was closing and terminating all rental contracts effective Dec. 31, 2018. Since that time, I put everything on hold to look for a new kitchen, hoping to resume operations in March 2019.

Unfortunately, the search has been unsuccessful. This little casserole company has grown so much, that the spaces I’ve toured have either been too small, have inadequate equipment or are located too far from our customer base, creating insurmountable logistical and financial challenges.

Building my own commercial kitchen is not an option due to high construction costs and increased competition in the dinner delivery space. Four years ago, the only dinner delivery options were subscription-based meal kit companies (e.g., Blue Apron, Hello Fresh). But now, many grocery stores and online retailers offer grocery and meal delivery. Competition is fierce and I feel the financial risk is too great to build my own kitchen/store.

Therefore, I have made the difficult decision to permanently close Cream City Casseroles.

Launching Milwaukee and Waukesha Counties’ first dinner delivery service has been an amazing experience. I will miss our fantastic team of meal makers and delivery drivers, as well as our beloved customers. Thank you for supporting local businesses. Thank you for letting us cook for you.

I am very sorry for any inconvenience. Contact me with questions or concerns.
